Five Great Sussex Wedding Venues with Camping

Five Great Sussex Wedding Venues with Camping

At Great British Bell Tents we know a little (actually a lot!) about weddings and camping. We know that many brides want an outdoor wedding, and that for them, a camping themed wedding is often a dream come true. So here’s our run-down of five of the finest wedding camping venues in Sussex to help you plan the perfect outdoor wedding day.

Bignor Park

Bignor Park’s wedding services are wonderful. Both civil weddings and partnerships can be celebrated in their Greek-style loggia and there are fantastic photo opportunities around the lake to make your wedding album outstanding. Because Bignor Park only accepts twelve weddings a year, you’re guaranteed to get personal attention for your big day and your guests will enjoy your outdoor ceremony, followed by the chance to party and camp in the rolling grounds – glamping at it’s very best.

Two Woods

Surrounded by beautiful Redwood trees (and with a barn in case of bad weather) the Two Woods estate offers the perfect wedding camping venue for intimate weddings. With seating for eighty which can be increased by arrangement to a hundred, and an aisle of lanterns and candles to illuminate the bride and groom’s path to the altar, this is a romantic venue that also offers camping with all the necessities and a few luxuries too.

Sumners Pond

This glorious glamping venue has a separate, dedicated facility for weddings, the Wedding Field and Match Lake, which are rented out together to offer a secluded and romantic location for your wedding, with a beautiful rural path that meanders from the camping space to the Match Lake, offering plenty of opportunities for romantic moments and – of course – unforgettable outdoor wedding photographs. Sumners Pond is located in a hundred acres of lakes and woodland, quiet meadows and rolling pastures. Still a working farm, the owners have given real thought to making a wedding venue work – for example they are building a dedicated entrance to the Wedding Field to give guests their own access rather than travelling through the public campsite. They also know that a camping themed wedding requires a delicate balance of exclusivity and help, so they are happy for couples to ‘do their thing’ but are always on hand to offer advice.

House on the Brooks

Nestling between the South Downs and the River Rother, this 25 acre location is actually inside the South Downs National Park, and rich with wonderful wildlife from dragonflies to buzzards, yet it’s just a hop and a skip from the local village too. With a choice of caterers, camping companies and whether or not to use the main house as part of your reception, this is also one of the most flexible and easy to work with camping wedding venues we’ve come across.

Maplehurst Farm

The wedding space at Maplehurst Farm is a waterside venue, inside a working deer farm – so romantic! Combining the atmosphere of being deep in the countryside, along with excellent travel links (it’s just 15 minutes from Horsham), the farm is a wonderful base for a boho wedding complete with overnight camping. Idyllic views, complete tranquillity and a dedicated camping field make this outdoor wedding location one of the prettiest we’ve come across.
